I’m a music-lover. For three years I put together a music podcast to highlight my favorite music across many genres. I explored high and low for new songs on Pandora, Slacker, We are Hunted, HypeMachine, Lala, The Sixty One, Beatport, 7 Digital, NPR, and Last.Fm. I searched for killer mixes on Hybridized.org (Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West is my favorite here), Mixcloud, and the essential mixes & friday night bangers from the BBC (thanks Pete Tong & Annie Mac!). But while all these services do a great job of helping you discover new bands and mixes, none have created an experience around live music concerts like Wolfgang’s Vault.

Think of Wolfgang’s Vault like that amazing local record store run by the friendly man that knows more about music than you ever could because he’s lived it. He’s done the concerts, the VIP rooms, the backstage parties, the hotel parties, and the chance encounters. In my home town of Dallas, the man is Bill Wisener who has run Bill’s Records (and tapes, and CDs, and posters) for as long as I can remember. On the Internet that man is Wolfgang, and you now have access via Boxee to his collection of rare and vintage concerts as well as from bands on tour now.
Wolfgang’s Vault on Boxee propels you into a world of 60′s psychadelic rock, amazing vintage jazz, “tear the roof off this mother” funk, current Indie rock idols, and amazing concerts from the 80s. Wolfgang has generously picked out some of his favorites in the featured section. Wolfgang’s Vault aficionados can search for their favorite concerts or play directly from their personal playlists on the site. For those who hate making choices, you can just turn on Wolfgang’s Vault radio and let the music wash over you – including sessions from famed DayTrotter Studios in Rock Island, IL. Oh, and did we mention all of this is free?

Sign up for an account with Wolfgang’s Vault and relive all those musical moments you might have missed.

I justs searched the app library and can't find it. What am I missing?
hey Michael – looking into what the issue is and I'll reply as soon as it's up.
and we're live…
I'm in. Spectacular!
any new info boxee team? Were more than ready
for a release date or some info! Just let us in on it.
I've peordered the popbox but ready to pull put for a
release date on the box, or some word about what's
going on with it. The popbox isn't doing to good either
on info or release dates. Be the first to throw the punch
boxee!
I second that.. how do we get this app via the app library?
They had me at Jimi. Will hopefully be up on the official repos when I get home.
(also thanks for listing/linking all those sites – I only knew 2/3 of those!)
paidContent.org is reporting that "free" listening is limited to 10 hours a month. Unlimited listening is available with the annual $48 VIP membership. Could you clarify? Thanks.

offtopic: will you adopt the webm and html5 in the near future? 'cause if that reduces the cpu usage drasticly against flash i'll be very thankfull.
omg. sounds awesome. but will it work? pandora doesn't , hulu don't.
who's fooling who for that matter? keep on rockin' in the free world!
plays worldwide : )
Kudos.
I was waiting for this one
bb release date
Luv this app. Nice mix of classic live music.
Is it real that Boxee Box will not have a hard drive inside? It’s very sad. Nobody want to put a lot of gadget togheter television. A box plus a external drive is made for nerds, not for familie’s entertainment.
You have to release the b.b. soon!!! It is the only way you will get a jump on googleTV and have any chance of obtaining a wide enough user base (which has eagerly waiting) and allow you to compete with their platform. WE BELIEVE IN THE BOX!!!
)
Yep! love all the new stuff their adding into the boxee platform,…..but what about the special little box of hardware were gonna be using it on? Come on Andrew, give us some info! I mean, look, we both have the same name! that should be enough for you to leak the info to me!! and lord knows how many more people that are waiting for it.

This App is awesome….listened to a James Taylor concert from 1971…sound was great…works smooth…very cool
Is there a Wolfgang's Vault app for Droid? How do I get it?
Really?? 90% of folks visiting are focused on the hardware release. Expect that to hit about 98% in the next two weeks. Not sure why Boxee folks don't seem to have any interest in that, and satisfying (future) customers. Going to have to assume that this 2nd qrtr thing is definitely going to slip. Honestly, I so wish that prototype never made it to CES. I, like a lot of folks, are hanging in the breeze. You'd think they'd spin up some sort of site to help folks understand progress from at least a high level and motivate them to hold on.
I agree with the commenters above. I'm more than ready to upgrade from my xbox running xbmc and with no release date in sight for the boxee box there's only so long I'm willing to wait before I pull the trigger on a competing device…
I have 4 television stations through Livestream.com and I just want to know that if there is an app for livestream to see my stations or I have to get someone to make an app to play my stations….thanks
Sometimes I love Apple's policy: not to annunce a new product or at least give a precise release date. In the first case you don't have to wait, just take your credit card and you're done. In the second case you know exactly when you can have that new product and use it. With the box we knew a very long time ago that it will be in stores in 2010… no more infos about, just a little preview at CES… Give us some infos about that box, please!
Ok… I'm getting really tired. When is the stupid device coming out? 06/30 of THIS year? I wouldn't be surprise if they announce a sudden delay of the launch date…. Geez I wish there would be another similar device I could buy. Popbox and Roku don't impress me…
Everybody needs to look at the popbox forums, Thebes let everybody in on a release date for the amazon orders! Unlike somebody! July 4th. Boxee you guys better get on a release date or everybody will go to the popbox. Do somthing or lose it all. Or just take it off your website, cause it looks like a lost cause!
Mm, pretty great ideas. Do you provide any kind of subscription service because I am unable to see it.
Thanks
David Tan
