We’re excited to announce Jamie Divine has joined Boxee as Director of User Experience. Jamie formerly led visual design at Google and helped scale one of the biggest brands in the world.
He is responsible for incalculable amounts of user happiness.
At Google, he contributed to 33+ product launches, three major redesigns across Search, Apps, and Mobile, and countless experiments. He set a high standard for usability with best of breed products across several categories.
What makes Jamie special is his passion for creating technology experiences that people love. This expertise is important to us because Boxee represents the future of TV when there is no TV — instead, just various screen sizes and modalities — when new concepts for enjoying media will need to be invented. In this frontier, we’ll depend on Jamie to architect an experience that is seamless, joyful, clever and deserving of our users’ affection.
Boxee and New York City +1.

Great News another excellent talent added to Boxee!!! any idea when the BOX will be released?
Wondering and Waiting for the Boxee Box. When will it be released?
I guess this is a touchy subject since avner usually responds to every inquiry about the company except this one. or maybe he is simply too busy or out of office.
It's not touchy, we're just busy working on it!
I wish could be more specific, but I don't have a hard date. Soon!
Just saying it was scheduled for second quarter. We are a third the way through the second quarter and still no date.
Yeah… throw us a bone, man.
D-Link is on the Taiwan exchange – I wish that it were available on US Exchanges in time for Boxee launch! (More liquidity) In any case I see Boxee as being a potentially seminal event in home electronics and networking investments.
Just curious as to what this means for the Boxee User Experience and the UI.
Will this bring forth more simple navigation?
Better search options?
More integration with the internet?
A new UI? or will the current one be enhanced? more responsive?
Will this eventually tie into Google features/app/services in some way?
Will Boxee UI stop using so much resources?
Will h be architecture the NEXT generation of Boxee software, or the current generation that will be featured in the Boxee Box?
And speaking of the Boxee Box, will it be update-able as you release newer versions of Boxee? If so, will this be automatic? manually done? and will updates be available for the B-Box as soon as it is released for PCs?
Thanks in advance
Would love to see this give birth to a new UI and better local-file scraping.
I would use Boxee exclusively, if only it had some more "shine" to the UI; silver borders with blue waves and deep blacks to really show off the UI on a High-def TV, with a high contrast ratio.
Instead of these grays and greens…
Brian, have you upgraded versions recenty?
Cool – we have clients that want to be on boxee. Flash 10.1 w/3d mag stuff too
see http://lookbookhd.com and call me.
Regatta to ya,
J
oh and where do you have keycode lists i can program remote arrows , left right up down ok … all that in F10.1
"At Google, he contributed to 33+ product launches"
What exactly does "33+" mean? 34?
Welcome, I hope he does good things,
NOT like the HORRIBLE interface of GoogleMail and the TERRIBLE forced conversation threading…
I hope Boxee goes from strength to strength, particularly in the Music interface where J. River Media Center has the best so far.
Thanks
Mark.
R U kidding??? That's what makes GMail rock!
Note: on the Boxee Box topic. PLEASE REDESIGN THE CASE! It will not fit into my already crowded TV shelf. It needs to be streamlined by putting it flat on the shelf(versus the ostentatious 3D box look thing)… Just my opinion..
Thanks for the opinion! We love our current design but someday there will be another box powered by Boxee that's slim and streamlined for those that want to stack. Hang tight.
Any chance boxee goes on xbox360?
