I think the idea for an embedded platform is great. The reason I would actually buy a device over using an existing pc is that a developer and a manufacturer take over the responsibility of making flash work. The main reason I do not use boxee is because of flash and the amount of changing this and changing that to make a hulu video play correctly becomes overwhelming. I know flash content is not your fault but the problems associated with it would push a lot of frustrated consumers your way with an embedded device. Hopefully the networks and there sponsors fully get on board with internet tv and go back to providing free content and bypass the cable companies but thats a whole new debate and boxees sucess will be based on how that works out.

What keeps me with Plex is the fact that there is legit Harmony support... I can program it so stop, ff, rewind, etc. works just like a real devise. Using the Apple Remote with Boxee feels like a step backward... plus as stated the Boxee UI could look better... I use the Aeon skin with Plex and it looks and functions PERFECTLY!

Once Boxee partners up with Harmony to create something similar, and they mess with the "sex appeal" of the UI, I may reconsider using Boxee again!

Kinda found this a little late I think and didn't read through everything yet but it would be nice to be developed into an Android app in the near future. Archos is releasing an Android media player/phone (maybe) in the next month promising pc like performance. They even started a high-end apps market place with google for the product and other high-end devices to come in the future. I see this as potential for boxee to go hand-held. I don't think i'd ever turn it off if I had this on my anywhere I went.

Running a business of any size burns through great deals of cash. Kind of scary really. A team of 5 burns through at least 25,000 a month on salaries and office costs. If you want to market your product, travel to conferences or VC gatherings your costs quickly add up.

---------
Congrats to your team. It's good to see a hard working group can finally start to see light at the end of the tunnel. Being a part of a small development team myself I can understand where you're coming from. I've been an XBMC user for many years. Keep up the good work.

Thanks.
