Way to go team Boxee! Going to update my mac right now.
thx. btw, love your live broadcasts
How do you do the update direct from the Boxee client? Is that a Settings menu?
Doesn’t exist, has to be done manually.
One of the bug fixes listed was the following:
“Unable to launch Boxee with remote”
How do I use the above feature? Is it for a specific platform?
This is a specific to the Mac OSX remote, which under certain scenarios did not work as intended.
For some reason Boxee on my Mythbuntu 9.04 box now takes cpu to 100% immediately and stays there. It’s completely unusable. When the update that fixed the BBC Iplayer problem was applied there was no problem whatsoever but now for some reason it’s unusable.
Hey Paul,
please run glxinfo and make sure that “direct rendering” is On.
also, run glxgears and see how much frames per second you get.
Love to see the bug fixes. Great work! Does this release resolve the DVD recognition in Windows? This had previously worked earlier versions which is why I am surprised it hasn’t been resolved quickly.
If not fixed, is there a timeline? Being able to recognie and play DVDs is a very important feature at least for me.
Thanks
Hi IslanderJSF,
We are aware of the DVD playback/recognition issues, and hope to fix most of them for the Beta.
any luck with diggnation and the totally rad show working (revision3)?
checked on Saturday night with the new update, still nothing and now other revision3 shows are showing “no data found”.
i mainly only watch revision3 on boxee so unfortunately boxee has not been used for a few weeks due to the revision 3 issues.
Hello Boxee,
Great work alltogether.
Using Boxee on Vista Ultimate x64 without any serious issues.
Just wondering are there any plans in adding Music/Video etc. Library Search and also ability to quickly scroll to the bottom/middle of the playlist, as if you have a lot of i.e. music going all the way to letter “Z” using Boxee iPhone Remote may take a while.
Thank you…
we’re working on a search feature for the Beta, which will make the navigation much easier
Not clear on what “Support for ATI graphic cards” means. Were they not supported before or was the support buggy? I use an ATI card on Windows.
Some configurations exhibited problems of which some were solved. Others (like the ATI card and configuration I’m using right now) work perfectly with no change.
Sweet update.
Of course some questions(big surprise).
Netflix support(windows) when?
Also when will it get VMC or 7MC support, so I can have the best of both worlds, as my Blue ray software only runs in 7MC with Arcsofts software(which is why I have to run 7MC, also for the tuner cards). Or is there a way to launch external apps within Boxee?
Keep up the good work.
Regarding Netflix on Windows, we are working on it, and hope to make it available soon.
For Windows Media Center integration, you can actually do it the other way around – see http://bit.ly/boxeeinwmc. If you want to achieve this from Boxee, you could write a Boxee App (see http://developer.boxee.tv) to launch WMC – a good starting point may be the Facebook Photos app, which launches a browser.
Downloaded the update and that is when I began to have problems with Boxee. Some feeds from Hulu the audio played but the video did not. And the audio kept playing after I exited Boxee. Had to reboot to stop it. Then I tried again same video same problem… but the audio did stop. Found a video that played, watched it but when I tried to exit the program I couldn’t. Had to force quit.
Awsome work …
boxie rocks…

Hi, got to say I love boxee on my atv.
I was wondering if you guys are working on accessing the gpu(gpu acceleration) on the atv? It would be a killer feature and finally make HD content available in boxee(on the atv.)
also is there any plans for a openvpn/hotspotshield app so us non-americans can get some hulu love?
Cheers
Hi,
I am testing Boxee extensivley on Mythbuntu 9.04 and not doing anything with the results and bug data i am getting back from Boxee.
I am using betas of most of the software versions on a Atom 330 coupled with the ION 9400 GPU.
I am using proposed updates on ubuntu with the beta release of the NVIDIA ION driver and an updated release of pulseaudio. I am running this with audio over HDMI which in gerneal works very nicely. But I am still mamking it crash reliably.
From my personal point of view i would like to create an app for the MythTVWeb interface, I have the mythTV guys interested. Also an accessibility plugin for visually impaired users. Can you point my in the right direction on where to help, I am already reading the app docs on your website.
