Newsbox(ee) = Twitter + YouTube on boxee
Newsbox(ee) is a new way for you to stay on top of what is driving the conversation when it comes to video on the Internet. the app crawls the top trending topics from Twitter and brings the corresponding YouTube videos. the result is a current, interesting and always changing list of videos. a great idea and a simple to use implementation.
the idea of using Twitter has a filter for discovering new content holds lots of promise. discovery on the web is a constantly growing challenge, Newsbox(ee) is a fresh new way to look at the problem.
this is Sacha Arnoud’s second app (first was the C dans l’air).

This is quite cool. But once I get to the video page, I cannot figure out how to play any of the videos.
clicking on a video should open up the YouTube player. what happens when you click?
I’m using the boxee iphone remote as well as a keyboard via VNC. If I click OK or RETURN, nothing happens.

A new version (1.2) has been pushed this morning. And from my current understanding, it should take care of the issue you are facing. Can you please upgrade the app and let me know how it goes ?
Upgraded to 1.2. Now I can select a video. The “loading” icon shows up, but a video never starts playing. After a bit, the loading icon goes away and nothing happens.
BTW, does one need to uninstall a boxee app before upgrading a boxee app? I cool, auto-upgrade (ala apple app store) feature would be sweet.
