I'm wondering if anyone has asked about a boxee app to support etvnet.ca, a Canadian based site that provides Russian TV on demand that I've been a subscriber of for a while now. They have all kinds of programming... movies, tv shows, news and sports... basically anything that's shown on television in Russia.

I agree. I tried out the dev tutorial only to find out that it doesn't work in the Boxee version I have (pre-API) and I can't download a later release. I reeeaalllly want to adapt the XBMC Academic Earth plug-in to work in Boxee but I can't do it using the new API (which looks sweet BTW).

I don't know how you guys envision your strategy to manage the Alpha testers, but I don't get why you don't encourage us all to use the latest release. Having multiple different alpha releases out in the wild only serves to increase complexity and make tracking bugs more that much more difficult.

I don't even need the incentive of a Drobo + 4 (although they look pretty sweet). I just need the tools.

BTW, why did a previous version of XMBC break all of the plugins? Did they switch to Python 3 or something?

Mr. Ronen,

My name is Jonathan Aseel-Fine. I am a 17 year old student with an immeasureable passion for entrepreneurship, computer science, technology, as well as innovation. Having long been a follower of the Web 2.0 startup scene, I have taken a keen interest in boxee, and am very impressed with the level of media integration created by your visionary platform. This summer I was initially planning to take classes at the Technion or start my own project. However, I really want to gain firsthand experience in the field first and be exposed to the unique experience of a bustling tech startup. Mr. Ronen, I am not asking for money or a paid job; what I am asking for is knowledge. This summer I am fully available to commit myself to any offer you provide. Whether it be job shadowing, an internship, washing the floors, filing papers, or even bringing you and your team coffee every morning, I will do whatever it takes. While the idea of inviting a 17 year old boy you have never met before into the domains of your office may not be as the most appeasing idea, I promise you Mr. Ronen, you will not be disappointed. I am an extremely committed, hard working, productive, capable, respectful, ambitious, and amiable human being. I good with people, numbers, computers, and like so many in your field, share the burning desire to innovate and cultivate the world we live in. Take a chance on me Mr. Ronen, I know I will prove myself worthwhile.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Aseel-Fine

I would gladly throw my hat into a dev challenge IF YOU'D RELEASE A NEW WINDOWS VERSION ALREADY!?!?! (please) I've got boxee running on two machines (in conjunction with VMC and regular XBMC - with EventGhost, a little ingenuity and a LOT of trial and error, all 3 are launchable and controllable via a single MCE Remote control) but not being able to pause hulu or cbs is KILLING ME (also, why no Flashpoint in the CBS app? Not a great show, but decent and it's got a few eps online). Please please please, daddy wants an XUL based boxee for windows.
