boxee @CES
we are having a great time at CES. busy, losing our voice, exhausted, but loving it!
there is lots of traffic at our two booths. Jeremy, Nate, Melody and Patrick are doing an amazing job helping us tell the boxee story. don’t know what we would have done without them coming out here.
probably one of the most amazing things is how many of the people stopping by our booth have already heard of boxee or are already alpha testers. it’s also fun (in a weird way) to have the people from the cable companies pay a visit (we had lots of them coming)..
oh, and last night we were a winner at G4’s CES Best of the Best! good times!

Care to spill a bit more details about all the cable companies stopping by the booth? Were they friendly visits…?

I didn’t shoot any booth video, as we were too busy with users and soon-to-be boxee family members. But; my buddies Chris and Kevin at G4TV talked about boxee on the CES 2009 live coverage.
We have a TON of vids up (I produce all of the gadgets that are on that G4 show on CES…)

great seeing you guys at CES. got my wife to approve replacing our appleTV w/ a macmini running the latest boxee alpha. i had her look at it a number of months back, but she rejected it–she approved this time around.
moreover, she suggested (i agreed) on returning our samsung 2500 bluray player w/ netflix streaming as boxee handles netflix navigation better (need HD!).

Dont lose AppleTV – You will lose major users. Its a gem for you. A Boxee box may look good but at the end, its not for you. Best solution, work with AppleTV to get Boxee certified as and integrated so it works 100%. YOu will get more audience, security, best ever applications and nothing will be limited. You may even get AppStore built in to work with AppStore and iPhone. Think of the possibilities rather than reinventing a new box. AppleTV is your future. You opened the door, keep it completely open and keep it solely to Boxee.
